If only I were twins then one of me could stay in NZ with Blake, Jonno & Jesse and the other me could live in Houston with John.
Of course this is impossible so the day finally arrived when I had to say goodbye to my family down under and return to the US. I arrived home Thursday night (20th May) after a mammoth 28hr trip (from front door to front door) - it really did feel like the neverending journey.......
My body clock is still readjusting to the time difference. I woke at 11am yesterday morning and then couldn't get to sleep last night - just lay in bed with my eyes wide open! John got me back into it this morning with a 7 mile walk, some gym work and then 10 laps in the pool! I'm now ready for an afternoon nap!
Anyway the trip home gave me lots of time to get over farewelling Blake & Jesse which was a little traumatic. Blake is planning a trip over here with Jesse (Jonno will be working) in October so that will be wonderful just knowing I'll be seeing them again this year and definitely helps in the transition of not having Jesse in my everyday life. Blake is a really great mum - she talks to him all the time and sings to him and is just a really positive person in his life - he is a very lucky little boy having her for a mum! She has had 3 months of broken sleep and sometimes very little sleep and still gets up smiling every morning - just awesome.
It's definitely great to be back in Houston with John - one day we'll all be living in the same country.............
