Tina, Charlie, Hannah, Joel + more......

Saturday 23rd Jan 2010 - Tina's Visit

Our wonderful friend Tina and her new husband Charlie, came to Houston for a day (Charlie was in Austin, Texas on a work project) and we were so excited to see her again. You may remember me talking about Tina in earlier blogs. John & I met Tina quite a few years ago on the Gold Coast when she was working in a restaurant while backpacking around Australia for 12 months during her gap year from University in Germany. That year she stayed with us in Adelaide for a month and then we met up with her again a few years later in London, then 2 yrs later she joined us

in Prague and last year we caught up with her in San Francisco! She truly is an international friend! In the meantime she met and married Charlie and today we met him for the first time – he’s lovely, very handsome and just loves Tina – smart man!!

We spent the day out sailing with Bill & Anna on their yacht along with Bill’s daughter Hannah who was visiting from Australia. Although the day was overcast and quite

cool we had a wonderful time. We started with a very enjoyable lunch on the boardwalk at Kemah overlooking Galveston Bay. It’s always great to see Tina – she’s so full of energy and smiles and happy to experience whatever's going. Looking forward to our next catch up somewhere in the world - Tahiti sounds nice!?!!

The day ended with the most magnificent sunset………..

Sunday 24th Jan 2010 - Catching up with Joel.....

Hannah and our friend Judy joined us for a visit to Joel Osteen’s Lakewood Church to experience the passion exuded by the 15,000 people in the congregation. It is alwa

ys an amazing experience and this time we were lucky enough to sit right down the front! As you can see from the photo it is an absolutely huge church and it was wonderful to be able to sit so close to the pulpit and see Joel & Victoria, the band and the choir at such close quarters. At the end of the service we were able to meet Joel and shake his hand – another first for us and very memorable – he is so approachable and friendly. If ever I was looking for a church to attend, I’d pick this one!

Tuesday 12th Jan 2010 - Guest Presenter - Julie!

I forgot to mention that I had the privilege of talking to a wonderful group of people recently. I really appreciated the opportunity of sharing my story with them. I feel so good when I’m with people who are taking action to improve their health and it motivates me to keep on the path I have chosen to take and one that I really enjoy.
