Christmas Day 2008

We decided some time ago that we would like to experience a white Christmas and incredibly that happened here in Santa Fe. What an amazing day.

We had a very quiet morning - breakfast in bed, opened presents, rang Blake for her birthday (NZ is nearly 1 day ahead of us, same as the Aussies) and generally relaxed watching the snow fall outside - so peaceful. We were stocked up with food and made ourselves a special Christmas lunch before heading out to experience some more of this beautiful city. We drove up to a nearby ski slope and watched kids taboggoning and laughing and really enjoying the day. The scenery was magnificent - definitely picture postcard stuff. We discovered a wonderful park full of sculptures and played there for a while. We stumbled upon a Jewish Hanukkah lamp lighting ceremony. Nine lamps are lit and each one is lit just after the sun goes down. We listened to the families sing a Hannukkah song while watching the lamps burn. Everyday brings something interesting into our lives.

......................We had a great day - very special and very memorable.
