Thanksgiving Day

What a wonderful celebration - no hype, no commercialism, no gifts - just plain old giving thanks for what we have - and a very large turkey of course! Oh and did I mention the delicious Pecan Pie and the equally delectable Pumpkin pie!

We were very appreciative to have been invited to lunch at Pat & Sam's - two beautiful friends who have included us in so many of their plans since January this year and are always sending us information on places to see and things to do. John 'picked up' Pat while walking in the Houston marathon not long after we arrived here - I was very grateful that he brought me home a new friend!

Pat & Sam's daughter Sarah came home from her overseas holiday to spend Thanksgiving with the family and we were captivated by stories of her backpacking adventures around Europe. Their friends, Carol and Bob, also joined the celebration and we had a great time - we even learned about the Wampahoag Indians - see I was listening!!

We have experienced so many new things this year and sharing Thanksgiving with friends is certainly one of the highlights.
