. Spent the first couple of days in London with Blake, Jonno and Shelda. John was left behind in Houston and then Jonno left to cope alone in London and the three of us headed off to Prague where our friend Tina bussed in from Dresden, Germany and spent 3 of the 5 days with us. A beautiful city, 4 beautiful women – the only thing to do was have a good time! We laughed a lot, walked a lot, ate a lot and shopped a lot ……perfect! Prague is an amazing city and as we rounded every corner we seemed to all express the same sentiment – wow! The architecture, the cobbled streets, the history – everything just so different to Adelaide and Houston. The weather was also very good to us and after cool starts to each day we found ourselves removing some of the layers by the afternoon and really enjoying the sunshine. We stayed in a fantastic fully renovated 3 bedroom apartment within walking distance to everything - although after a whole day walking we did find the trek home uphill a little tedious – however a quiet glass of wine on our return seemed to alleviate any foot pain we may have been experiencing followed of course by discussion and examination of the day’s purchases!

From Prague we sadly farewelled Tina (who went back to Germany to work) and then b
ack in London we farewelled Shelda (who was off to stay with other friends in England). Blake and I then repacked and set out on the Eurostar train to Paris, France where we spent 3 days together. Blake knows Paris quite well from her days working with ‘Contiki’ so I was lucky enough to have my own personal tour guide. We had a wonderful time together checking out all the tourist spots – the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe, the Louvre, the Sacre-Coeur, the Notre Dame, Montmatre, shopped on the Champs-Elysees as well as ate and drank at numerous cafes so needless to say we fell into bed each night totally exhausted.

We also caught the Metro out to the cemetery where Jim Morrison from the Doors is buried. That was a real experience. There are 2 security people guarding his grave as over the years vandals and souvenir hunters have done some irreparable damage and now the site has to be fenced off.
On our return to London I stayed with Blake and Jonno which was really nice – Blake and I just vegged out for the first day as we were all ‘toured’ out and didn’t want to see another tourist attraction for some time.
Then all too quickly the holiday was all over and after a tearful farewell with Blake at the airport I was flying back to Houston. I was very sad to be leaving her however I was also excited about seeing John again – he missed a wonderful holiday due to work commitments but hey - we won’t have too many violins playing ……. he can go next time!
Of course no time to be too sad as I quickly had to unpack, wash and then repack as we were off to San Anton
io for the weekend to attend a conference with Esther & Jerry Hicks, authors of ‘The Law of Attraction’ and ‘Ask and it is Given’ and many many other books as well as being featured in the DVD “The Secret”. What a wonderful weekend. We met so many amazing people and will be keeping in touch with some of them. San Antonio is such a beautiful place as is the surrounding countryside where Esther & Jerry have their property. This is Solomon the Owl who features in several of their books.
Back to Blake and Jonno – the latest news here is that they are packing up their goods and chattels and after living in the northern hemisphere for the past 7 years are heading south and will be settling in New Zealand in August. This is very exciting news for us as we have never been to New Zealand and look forward to visiting them!
